Wiki and Classroom Instruction

 

A wiki ia  a website that has a variety of authors and allows anyone to change or debate content. For teachers, wiki's can be a useful tool in the classroom to provide sttudents with a syllabus, outlines and notes. In addition, it can be a geat opportunity for students to collectively build a website, share their thoughts and questions on lessons and work together on projects. Wiki's also allow teachers to send invitations to student to invite them to be part of the site.

Reflection

A wiki was produce in this assignment. It is to be use as a lesson tool for my Social Studies classes.

It was very difficult getting some of the icons on the web page & organizing the page how I desired.

I reorganize the pages several times until I got a satisfactory outcome. This web page can be improve by adding more links & icons.

Reflection

 

The piece was a video produce in movie maker. The piece will be used as a lesson tool for my Social Studies class. The topic is our National Symbols the students will observe the movie during the lesson to see mainly the different National Symbols of Antigua & Barbuda. There was minor challenges face during this production; Only one was getting my video uploaded to the blog. So I shared it on youtube & then uploaded it to my blog post. A movie is a very resourceful tool for the classroom when brining across lessons that would require the use of videos & alot of images. My piece could be improve my adding some local music & some more pictures to the video.

VIDEOS

 

A video is the system of recording, reproducing or broad casting; moving images on a form video tape. Or a movie or other piece of materials recorded on video type.

 

 

 

 

Videos & Classroom Instruction

    1. Videos can be use to introduce new concepts give instructions, or explain the rules and could be assigned to students to watch in class.

 

    2. Sometimes depending on the topic videos works best in the middle of the lesson particularly for inquiry-or Problem-Based Learning.

 

    3. The video can also be use to covey homework assignment so all the students get the same instructions whether they happen to be in class that day or absent.

 

    4.Videos can be interactive, other times the students can create their own video, either as part of their homework or a student-led project.

 

    5. Videos can convey messages to other audiences, such as parents. Or they can explain relevant information to a general audience.

 







One use of the flower is to make perfumes

Students will be allowed  to continually  comment on post and any other information that they think would be relevant to this blog. They will also be place into groups to study and examine a particular flower and it uses. Students can even make their own posting on the blog on a daily basis for the rest of the term and upload any videos or graphics they think would be relevant in the continuation of the blog. At the end of the term the students will then be asked to create a simple blog which would include information about the flower that they were studying in their groups.

My Blog

This blog is about flowers the purpose & uses of flowers. Flowers are a very unique group of living things they can be seen all over our environment, bringing a natural beauty any where they grow. I plan to use this blog to expand on the students awarness about flowers. Most students have an idea about flowers there variety of colours and there main purpose as the reproduction agent of  the plant. But most don't even know that the perfume & lotions they love so much come from these flowers.

 Also the medicine we intake and those sweet fragrance cleaning agents also comes from the flowers. Students will be able to give their feed back on the topic and add any other relevant information that is necessary. This blog should be a very informative one for the student as they broaden their knowledge about the beautiful array of flowers in their environments.

Impression of Blog

Hey Aneka, I think your blog is very creative and attractive to look at. I love the bright colors and the theme u placed to it. The only suggestion that I would make to improve it is to add some gadgets:)
